Christmas traffic to Lapland departing from elsewhere in Europe will increase from around this time until the New Year.
"We believe in the uniqueness of Lapland as a tourist destination and want to help to increase and develop air traffic to Finavia's airports in Lapland," says Kimmo Ruotsalainen, Finavia's Marketing Director.
The charity project is named "Wish-Upon-A-Star" and Finavia has supported
these flights before.
The British airline Monarch Airlines has cooperated for years with local charities. In particular, the airline has supported two hospitals that care for seriously ill children.
